When the times comes to leave, walk away quietly and don’t make a fuss
They told me, you know what I’m saying, there’s a very slim chance of walking, because the spine was, like, crushed, or whatever. I should be able to sit up on my own. But as far as me walking and all that, it’s all on me. I’m going to be walking, I know that—that’s how I feel. If I can’t walk, then, oh well, hakuna matata. I’ll be on a boat, fishing.

The great monk Bodhidharma. The Indian Prince from the state of Tamil Nadu created breakthroughs in medicine and designed cures for diseases that we pour billions in attempt to find a cure today. A lesser known fact, Bodhidharma created the origins for Shaolin Kung Fu. He traveled from Kanchipuram, India to China thousands of years back. He did this in an effort to stop incoming invaders by teaching local Chinese villagers the Tamil fighting techniques he created. His students then established the Shaolin Temple and Kung Fu and its derivatives was born. So, Kung Fu was created by an Indian, a Tamilian, Yet, little do we know of Bodhidharma or of his accomplishments. Like him, many other great men have lived before us - Indian and non-Indian alike. Their deeds are visible in society and their genes are part of ours. Learning history is not a task; it is a gift. It is simply unfolding the layers of stories created by our forefathers. It is who we are and why we are the way we are. So, open the book or lend a ear to a grandmother’s tale. Learn thy history, learn thyself. -S.S.
